A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A TRANSFER FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2024 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO THE PUEBLO FOOD PROJECT IN THE
AMOUNT OF $2,000 TO SPONSOR THE SUN, SOIL, WATER
AG SUMMIT ON FEBRUARY 23 - 24, 2024
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $2,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2024
General Fund Budget is authorized to be transferred to Pueblo Food Project to sponsor the Sun,
Soil, Water Ag Summit on February 23 - 24 2024.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of the Pueblo Food Project in the
amount of $2,000 to sponsor the Sun, Soil, Water Ag Summit on February 23 - 24,
2024.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
City Council sponsored this event in 2023.
BACKGROUND:
This two-day summit holds several events including the 2nd Annual Pueblo Food
Summit Leadership Awards, a Food Business Pitch Competition, and, of course, a
Community-Led Summit, where we will gather to learn, share, inspire, and catalyze
food systems change. Last year PFP hosted over 200 people at this event.
On Friday, February 23rd at 6 pm, the Food Systems Leadership Awards will honor
leaders in the Pueblo Food System and announce the pitch competition winners. On
Saturday, February 24, a day-long conference will be held.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $2,000 would be transferred from the Council Contingencies
Account in the 2023 General Fund Budget to the Pueblo Food Project.
