AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ACCEPTING A SUBGRANT
IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,000 FROM THE COLORADO
BLUEPRINT TO END HUNGER FOR THE PUEBLO FOOD
PROJECT, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN THE GRANT
AGREEMENT, AND BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING
$12,000 TO PROJECT NO. CI2332
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The Memorandum of Understanding dated July 1, 2023 (“Agreement”) between the City
of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, by and through the Pueblo Food Project, and One Colorado
Education Fund, a copy of which is attached hereto, having been approved as to form by the
City Attorney, is hereby approved
SECTION 2.
The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the Agreement on behalf of the City of
Pueblo, a Colorado Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk is authorized to affix the seal of
the City thereto and attest the same.
SECTION 3.
Funds in the amount of $55,000.00 shall be accepted pursuant to the Agreement and
budgeted and appropriated to Project No. CI2213.
SECTION 4.
The officers and staff of the City are hereby authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with this Ordinance and the attached Agreement to effectuate the transactions
described therein.
SECTION 5.
This Ordinance shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and City
Council.

SUMMARY:
Attached is an Ordinance approving and accepting a grant in the amount of $12,000.00
from the Colorado Blueprint to End Hunger to provide funds for the Pueblo Food Project
to promote Healthy School Meals for All. This Ordinance budgets and appropriates the
grant funds to Project No. CI2332 and authorizes the Mayor to sign the Grant
Agreement.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Not applicable to this Ordinance.
BACKGROUND:
The Pueblo Food Project (“PFP”) has been working in partnership with the Colorado
Blueprint to End Hunger to strategize the implementation and marketing of the Healthy
School Meals for All (“HSMA”) initiative. This grant allocates funding to conduct
campaign outreach to hard-to-reach populations about the Healthy School Meals for All
program. The goal of this program is to encourage community-based organizations to
actively promote the Healthy School Meals for All program at the local level within the
communities they work with. PFP was notified of this award on November 12, 2023.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
There are no matching funds required for this grant. The City of Pueblo will receive
$12,000.00 for the Pueblo Food Project, which will be given in two lump sums in
November 2023 and March 2024. The total grant budget for Project No. CI2332 will be
$12,000.00.

ALTERNATIVES:
If the proposed Ordinance is not approved, the Pueblo Food Project will not receive the
grant funds.
