A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT
IN THE AMOUNT OF $23,867 TO A 5 CONSTRUCTION FOR
PROJECT NO. 23-159, CONCRETE IMPROVEMENTS -
UNIVERSITY PARK NEIGHBORHOOD, SETTING FORTH
$8,000 FOR CONTINGENCIES, AND AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAME
WHEREAS, competitive bids for Project No. 23-159, Concrete Improvements - University
Park Neighborhood have been received and examined; AND,
WHEREAS, the proposal of A 5 Construction was the lowest bid determined to be
responsive, and the Committee of Awards recommends to the City Council that it authorizes
Project No. 23-159, Concrete Improvements - University Park Neighborhood to be performed;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
The City Council authorizes Project No. 23-159, Concrete Improvements - University Park
Neighborhood to be performed, and the contract for said project is hereby awarded to A 5
Construction in the amount of $23,867.00.
SECTION 2.
The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the City
of Pueblo, a Colorado Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City
thereto and attest same.
SECTION 3.
In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount
as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work.
Contingencies and Additional Work………$8,000.00
SECTION 4.
Funds in the amount of $31,867.00, for the contract and contingencies, shall be from
account Project CI2204, Street Rehabilitation.
SECTION 5.
The officers of the City of Pueblo are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 6.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached is a resolution awarding a Construction Contract to A 5 Construction for
Project No. 23-159, Concrete Improvements - University Park Neighborhood.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
None.
BACKGROUND:
This project will consist of the removal and replacement of multiple crosspans within the
University Park Neighborhood. This Resolution awards the construction contract to A 5
Construction.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $31,867.00 (contract and contingencies) will be paid from
account Project No. CI2204, Street Rehabilitation.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION
None.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None.
ALTERNATIVES:
Denial of this resolution will cancel the project.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Resolution.
