HomeMy WebLinkAbout15438RESOLUTION NO. 15438 A RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT AMENDMENT NO. 1 IN THE AMOUNT OF $129,249.95 TO JARCCO CONSTRUCTION, LLC, A COLORADO LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY, FOR PROJECT NO. 23-068, CONCRETE IMPROVEMENTS - W. 32ND STREET, AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAME WHEREAS, a Construction Contract was awarded to JARCCO Construction, LLC, a Colorado Limited Liability Company, under Contract Number 23-068; AND, WHEREAS, additional funds are necessary to complete the concrete improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that SECTION 1. This Contract Amendment No. 1 to the Construction Contract for Project 23-068 Concrete Improvements – W. 32nd Street, with JARCCO Construction, LLC, a Colorado Limited Liability Company, in the amount of $129,249.95. SECTION 2. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the City of Pueblo, a Colorado Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest same. SECTION 3. Funds, in the amount of $129,249.95 shall be from account Project CI2309, Road & Street Repairs. SECTION 4. The officers of the City of Pueblo are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. Gradisar VIA: Marisa Stoller, City Clerk FROM: Andrew Hayes, Public Works Director SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT AMENDMENT NO. 1 IN THE AMOUNT OF $129,249.95 TO JARCCO CONSTRUCTION, LLC, A COLORADO LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY, FOR PROJECT NO. 23-068, CONCRETE IMPROVEMENTS - W. 32ND STREET, AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAME SUMMARY: This Resolution awards Contract Amendment No. 1 in the amount of $129,249.95 to JARCCO Construction, LLC, for Project No. 23-068, Concrete Improvements – W. 32nd Street. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Resolution 15257, dated June 12, 2023, awarded a Construction Contract to JARCCO Construction, LLC, in the amount of $458,754 setting forth $91,750 for contingencies. BACKGROUND: The original project, awarded to JARCCO Construction, LLC, consisted of concrete improvements on West 32nd Street between Baltimore and Morris Avenues. The improvements included removal and construction of curb & gutter, sidewalk, driveways, and curb ramps, and the relocation of chain link fences that are currently in the City right-of-way. This contract amendment adds additional Class 6 Road Base to stabilize the subgrade under the entire length of curb and gutter, and additional concrete work necessary to make private driveways accessible. This Resolution approves an amendment to increase the contract award amount previously awarded to JARCCO Construction, LLC. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funding in the amount of $129,249.95 will be paid from account Project CI2309, Road & Street Repairs. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: Denial of this resolution would cancel the additional work. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution.
