Gradisar VIA: Marisa Stoller, City Clerk FROM: Andrew Hayes, Public Works Director SUBJECT: AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,075 FROM HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PUEBLO, FOR COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE ASPHALT OVERLAY ON SPRAGUE AVENUE, AND BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS TO ACCOUNT PROJECT CI2309 - ROAD & STREET REPAIRS SUMMARY: The attached Ordinance will accept funds in the amount of $25,075.00 from Housing Authority of the City of Pueblo to cover its share of the cost associated with asphalt overlay work on Sprague Avenue between Prairie Avenue and Alma Street. The Ordinance also budgets and appropriates those funds into account Project CI2309 - Road & Street Repairs. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: As part of its current townhome construction project, Housing Authority of the City of Pueblo performed utility upgrade work on Sprague Avenue and was obligated to perform pavement repairs on the northern half of Sprague Avenue between Alma Street and Prairie Avenue. With the recent paving project on Prairie Avenue being performed by the City's Public Works Department, the City of Pueblo was able to perform additional pavement work on this short segment of Sprague Avenue by adding it to the Prairie Avenue project scope. To avoid having to pay for unnecessary traffic control, contractor mobilization, and other project costs, Housing Authority of the City of Pueblo agreed to contribute its share of the cost in exchange for the City of Pueblo performing the additional work. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds in the amount of $25,075.00 will be budgeted and appropriated into project account Project CI2309 - Road & Street Repairs. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: Failure to approve this Ordinance will prevent the City from receiving the funds from Housing Authority of the City of Pueblo. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Ordinance. ATTACHMENTS: None
