A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT
IN THE AMOUNT OF $300,290.30 TO RUSS GRADING &
EXCAVATING LLC., FOR PROJECT NO. 23-128, CONCRETE
IMPROVEMENTS - DENVER BOULEVARD AND WEST 31ST
STREET, SETTING FORTH $60,059.70 FOR CONTINGENCIES,
AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE
SAME
WHEREAS, competitive bids for Project No. 23-128, Concrete Improvements - Denver
Boulevard and West 31st Street have been received and examined; AND,
WHEREAS, the proposal of Russ Grading & Excavating LLC, was the lowest bid
determined to be responsive, and the Committee of Awards recommends to the City Council
that it authorize Project No. 23-128, Concrete Improvements - Denver Boulevard and West 31st
Street to be performed; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
The City Council authorizes Project No. 23-128, Concrete Improvements - Denver
Boulevard and West 31st Street to be performed, and the contract for said project is hereby
awarded to Russ Grading & Excavating LLC, in the amount of $300,290.30.
SECTION 2.
The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the City
of Pueblo, a Colorado Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City
thereto and attest same.
SECTION 3.
In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount
as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work.
Contingencies and Additional Work………$60,059.70
SECTION 4.
Funding, in the amount of $360,350 shall be from account Project CI2204, Street
Rehabilitation.
SECTION 5.
The officers of the City of Pueblo are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 6.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached is a resolution awarding a construction contract to Russ Grading & Excavating
LLC, for Project No. 23-128, Concrete Improvements - Denver Boulevard and West
31st Street.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
None.
BACKGROUND:
This project will consist of the removal and replacement of sidewalk and curb and gutter
along the West side of Denver Boulevard and the North side of West 31st Street from
Mountview Drive to Skyview Avenue.
This Resolution awards the construction contract to Russ Grading & Excavating LLC.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funding (including contingencies), in the amount of $360,350, will be paid from account
Project CI2204, Street Rehabilitation.

None.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None.
ALTERNATIVES:
Denial of this resolution will cancel the project.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Resolution.
