HomeMy WebLinkAbout15405RESOLUTION NO. 15405 A RESOLUTION RATIFYING PACOG’S JOINT APPOINTMENT OF STEVEN CONTRERAS TO THE PUEBLO REGIONAL BUILDING COMMISSION WHEREAS, this Resolution ratifies the joint appointment made at the PACOG meeting on September 28, 2023, by City-County Representatives who were present; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that SECTION 1. Steven Contreras is hereby appointed to the Pueblo Regional Building Commission to complete a three-year term expiring October 1, 2026. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with this Resolution to implement the appointment described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage. Gradisar VIA: Marisa Stoller, City Clerk FROM: Alyssa Parga, Secretary to the Mayor SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION RATIFYING PACOG’S JOINT APPOINTMENT OF STEVEN CONTRERAS TO THE PUEBLO REGIONAL BUILDING COMMISSION SUMMARY: This resolution ratifies the joint City-County appointment of a member to the Pueblo Regional Building Commission to complete a three-year term expiring October 1, 2026. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Joint City-County appointments to the Pueblo Regional Building Commission are made st on an annual basis selecting individuals to serve three-year terms expiring on July 1 of each year. Resolutions to ratify the joint appointments are passed by each entity. BACKGROUND: The County advertised for one joint vacancy on the Pueblo Regional Building Commission due to a term expiration on October 1, 2023. They received three applications for the vacancy. Pueblo County Commissioners and Pueblo City Council voted to appoint Steven Contreras, term of October 1, 2023 – October 1, 2026, at the September 28, 2023, Pueblo Area Council of Governments meeting. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This is a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: N/A STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: N/A ALTERNATIVES: City Council in agreement with the County Commissioners could remove the Resolution from the Agenda, request that the recruitment process be extended in order to receive additional applications for consideration. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution. ATTACHMENTS: None
