A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2023 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO MAD FRESH PRODUCTIONS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $1,500 TO SPONSOR THE 5TH ANNUAL
MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL ON OCTOBER 7, 2023 AT 11 AM
IN MINERAL PALACE PARK
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $1,500 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2023
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Mad Fresh Productions to support the 5th
Annual Multicultural Festival on October 7, 2023 at 11 am in Mineral Palace Park.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of the 5th Annual Multicultural
Festival in the amount of $1,500 to sponsor the 5th Annual Multicultural Festival at
Mineral Palace Park on October 7, 2023 at 11 am in Mineral Palace Park.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported this event for $1,500 in 2022.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Vicente Martinez Ortega is requesting $1,500 to support the 5th
Annual Multicultural Festival on October 7, 2023 at 11 am in Mineral Palace Park. The
event is free to the public and celebrates the culture, education, dance, song, crafts,
food and vendors of people of the world in Pueblo, Colorado. Dance groups
represented include Aztec, Russian, Egyptian, Native American, African, Mexican,
Soul, and more. Food trucks will be on site along with vendors and booths.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $1,500 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account
in the 2023 General Fund Budget to Mad Fresh Productions.

City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
