A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2023 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO GLOBAL MEDICAL RESPONSE, DBA
AMERICAN MEDICAL RESPONSE PUEBLO, IN THE AMOUNT
OF $1,000 TO SPONSOR THE SAFETY JAM EVENT ON
SATURDAY, JUNE 3, 2023
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $1,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2023
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Global Medical Response, DBA American
Medical Response Pueblo, in the amount of $1,000 to sponsor the Safety Jam event on
Saturday, June 3, 2023.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of Global Medical Response, DBA
American Medical Response Pueblo, in the amount of $1,000 to sponsor the Safety
Jam event which was held on Saturday, June 3, 2023.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported the Safety Jam event for $1,000 in 2022, 2020, and past years.
BACKGROUND:
Council member Sarah Martinez is requesting $1,000 to sponsor the American Medical
Response Safety Jam event held on June 3, 2023. The AMR Safety Jam is a free event
for the public that provides health and safety equipment and information to the
community. They also provide information on other services and opportunities available
to citizens in Pueblo and the surrounding area. The Safety Jam is sponsor driven and
has had several thousand attendees at their past events.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $1,000 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account
in the 2023 General Fund Budget to Global Medical Response, DBA American Medical
Response Pueblo.

City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
