A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF
JENNIFER THORNTON TO SERVE A FOUR-YEAR TERM EXPIRING AUGUST
30, 2027 ON THE ADA ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, Mayor Nicholas A. Gradisar has requested confirmation by the City Council of
his appointment of Jennifer Thornton to ADA Advisory Committee to serve a four-year term
expiring August 30, 2027; NOW, THEREFORE;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Jennifer Thornton is hereby appointed to the ADA Advisory Committee to serve a four-
year term expiring August 30, 2027.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with this Resolution to implement the appointment described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage.

EXPIRING AUGUST 30, 2027 ON THE ADA ADVISORY COMMITTEE
SUMMARY:
This Resolution confirms the appointment by the Mayor of Jennifer Thornton to serve a
four-year term expiring on August 30, 2027 on the ADA Advisory Committee.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
The Mayor has made appointments to the ADA Advisory Committee selecting
individuals to serve terms which expire during a particular calendar year and presented
them to Council for approval.
BACKGROUND:
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law on July 26, 1990 and
was amended most recently in January 2009. The ADA is a wide-ranging civil rights law
that prohibits discrimination based on disability. Disability is defined as "a physical or
mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity," such as walking, seeing,
hearing, breathing, thinking, socializing, and working, for example. The ADA includes a
list of impairments to major life activities. For more information about what the ADA

Appointments for this committee are now being processed through the Mayor’s Office.
Following an announcement in the on the City’s website and social media seeking
volunteers to serve on this committee, an application was received.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
The Committee recommends approval of this applicant.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None.
ALTERNATIVES:
Remove from the agenda and re-advertise for additional applications.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Resolution.
