A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE
AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES
BETWEEN THE CITY OF PUEBLO, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION,
AND AECOM TECHNICAL SERVICES, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF
$25,294.50 FOR 21-071, STORMWATER DEPARTMENT ENGINEER OF

AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAME
WHEREAS, Project No. 21-071 Stormwater Department Engineer of Record –

West 29 Drainage Improvements Project was awarded to AECOM Technical Services,
Inc., on August 8, 2022; and
WHEREAS, additional design and engineering work contemplated by
Amendment No. 2 is needed; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to proceed with and complete
such design in the manner herein provided; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
The Amendment No. 2, by and between the City of Pueblo, a Municipal
Corporation, and AECOM Technical Services, Inc., a Colorado Corporation, a copy of
which is attached hereto, having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, is
hereby approved, and City Council authorizes the additional work contemplated by
Amendment No. 2 to be performed in the amount of $25,294.50
SECTION 2.
Funds in the amount of $25,294.50 will be paid from account 525-41500-53001,
Professional Services.
SECTION 3.
The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute Amendment No. 2 on
behalf of the City of Pueblo, a Colorado Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall
affix the seal of the City thereto and attest same.
SECTION 4.
The officers of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with
this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 5.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
This Resolution approves Amendment No. 2 to the Professional Consulting Services
Agreement awarded to AECOM Technical Services, Inc. (AECOM), in the amount of
$25,294.50 for Project No. 21-071, Stormwater Department Engineer of Record – West

29 Drainage Improvements.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Resolution 12263, dated November 14, 2011, approved professional engineering
services with Drexel, Barrell & CO. The project was never completed. Ordinance
10123 dated February 14, 2022, approved selection of AECOM as the Engineer of
Record for the Stormwater Utility Department. Ordinance 10263, dated August 8, 2022,
approved an agreement for professional engineering services in the amount of
$158,846.98 to AECOM, for Project No. SW1808.
BACKGROUND:
The Stormwater Utility Department requested design services to alleviate flooding
problems in the residential neighborhood areas along West 29th Street. This project
was previously studied, and design plans were produced in 2012. AECOM will
incorporate new requirements from Colorado 811 SB-18-167, evaluate cost saving
alternatives, and revise the cost estimate to most recent prices for the 2012 design.
Amendment 1 was an amendment for engineering services to restore test hole areas in
the amount of $14,332.50 approved as a minor amendment to the contract pursuant to
Section 1-5-2(2)(f), P.M.C.
Amendment 2 to the contract will provide additional work for the project including survey
and design services for pipe segments required to be rehabilitated that are located in
the construction footprint of the storm sewer construction project, project management,
preparation of a sanitary sewer plan and profiles.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funding for the original Agreement ($158,846.98), Amendment #1 ($14,332.50),
Amendment #2 ($25,294.50) will be paid from account 525-41500-53001, Professional
Services.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
None.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None.
ALTERNATIVES:
Denial of this resolution will cancel the design of the additional improvements requested
by the Wastewater Department.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Resolution.
