HomeMy WebLinkAbout10464ORDINANCE NO. 10464 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PUEBLO, A COLORADO MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AND BALLARD KING & ASSOCIATES LIMITED, A COLORADO CORPORATION, FOR SERVICES WITH RESPECT TO A SOFTBALL FACILITY STUDY AND RELATED ANCILLARY SERVICES, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE SAME BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The Agreement for Professional Services ("Agreement") between the City of Pueblo, a Colorado Municipal Corporation, and Ballard King & Associates Limited, a Colorado Corporation, a copy of which is attached hereto, having been approved as to form by the City Attorney is hereby approved. SECTION 2. The Mayor is authorized to execute and deliver the Agreement in the name of the City and the City Clerk is authorized to affix the seal of the City thereto and to attest same, where the Agreement may be executed through electronic signature. SECTION 3. Funds in the amount of $6,500.00 are available in the Mayor's Professional Services General Fund budget account and the cost of the Agreement shall be paid from said account. SECTION 4. The officers and staff of the City are authorized and directed to perform any and all acts consistent with this Ordinance and the attached Agreement which are necessary or desirable to implement the transactions described therein. SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and City Council. Gradisar VIA: Marisa Stoller, City Clerk FROM: Steven Meier, Director of Parks and Recreation SUBJECT: AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PUEBLO, A COLORADO MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AND BALLARD KING & ASSOCIATES LIMITED, A COLORADO CORPORATION, FOR SERVICES WITH RESPECT TO A SOFTBALL FACILITY STUDY AND RELATED ANCILLARY SERVICES, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE SAME SUMMARY: Attached is an Ordinance approving and authorizing the Mayor to sign a Professional Services Agreement with Ballard King & Associates Limited to render professional services with respect to a Softball Facility Study and related ancillary services. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Not applicable to this Ordinance. BACKGROUND: On March 26, 2018, City Council approved Resolution No. 13934 to purchase vacant land for the purpose of future development of a girls’ softball complex once funding became available. Capital Project CI1811 – Land for Softball Field was created and $200,000 was budgeted and appropriate for the purchase of the property. This facility study will do a complete needs assessment for the City to determine how many additional softball fields are needed within the community to meet current needs for girls and adult softball programs and tournaments. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: The cost of the Softball Facility Study is $6,500.00. Funds for the study will be provided from the Mayor’s Professional Services General Fund Account. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable to this Ordinance. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not applicable to this Ordinance. ALTERNATIVES: If this Ordinance is not approved, the study will not be completed. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Ordinance. ATTACHMENTS: 1.
