HomeMy WebLinkAbout10454ORDINANCE NO. 10454 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN ENGAGEMENT LETTER WITH RECHT KORNFELD PC WITH RESPECT TO REPRESENTING THE CITY CLERK AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAME BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The Engagement Letter of retaining Recht Kornfeld PC with respect to representing the City Clerk Client in connection with addressing the legal sufficiency of petitions to amend the Pueblo City Charter to change the form of city government to a city manager-led government, including any challenge to or appeal of the City Clerk’s decision, a copy of which being attached hereto, having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, is hereby approved. SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the City and the City Clerk is authorized to affix the seal of the City thereto and attest same. SECTION 3. The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with this Ordinance and the attached Agreement to implement the policies and procedures described therein. SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and City Council. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: Mark Grueskin of Recht Kornfeld, P.C. has been retained by the City Clerk's office for assistance in election-specific matters. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: The City will be responsible for legal fees as well as any costs or expenses incurred in regard to services. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None.
