HomeMy WebLinkAbout10442ORDINANCE NO. 10442 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A PARKING AGREEMENT BETWEEN PUEBLO COUNTY AND THE CITY OF PUEBLO, RELATING TO THE COUNTY'S USE OF PARKING SPACES IN THE CITY'S PARKING LOT LOCATED AT W. 8TH STREET AND COURT STREET AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION THEREOF BY THE MAYOR BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The Parking Agreement ("Agreement") by and between Pueblo County, a Political Subdivision of the State of Colorado, and the City of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, a copy of which is attached hereto and made part hereof by reference, after having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, is hereby approved. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the City and the City Clerk is authorized to affix the seal of the City thereto and attest same. SECTION 2. The officers of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with this Ordinance and the attached Agreement to implement the policies and procedures described therein. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. Action by City Council: Introduced and initial adoption of Ordinance by City Council on April 10, 2023. Gradisar VIA: Marisa Stoller, City Clerk FROM: Andrew Hayes, Public Works Director SUBJECT: AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A PARKING AGREEMENT BETWEEN PUEBLO COUNTY AND THE CITY OF PUEBLO, RELATING TO THE COUNTY'S USE OF PARKING SPACES IN THE CITY'S PARKING LOT LOCATED AT W. 8TH STREET AND COURT STREET AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION THEREOF BY THE MAYOR SUMMARY: Attached is an Ordinance approving a parking agreement between Pueblo County and the City of Pueblo, relating to the County's use of parking spaces in the City's parking lot located at West 8th Street and Court Street and authorizing execution thereof by the Mayor. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: Pueblo County has requested the use of available parking spaces in the City's surface parking lot located on the southeast corner of the intersection of West 8th Street and Court Street. Sufficient parking spaces are available for use by the County at this time and the City of Pueblo and the County staff have negotiated the terms of a proposed parking agreement. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Pueblo County shall pay $30.00 per month for each permit issued by the City. The City will invoice the County for all issued permits on a monthly basis. All revenues received shall be deposited into a revenue account of the City Parking Enterprise. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not applicable ALTERNATIVES: Denial of this agreement will prevent the City from renting available parking spaces to Pueblo County.
