AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF
$116,533.87 FROM PUEBLO COUNTY FOR AVIATION FUEL
TAXES COLLECTED THROUGH PUEBLO COUNTY SALES TAX
COLLECTIONS, TO BE USED FOR ADVERTISING FOR THE
PUEBLO MEMORIAL AIRPORT, AND BUDGETING AND
APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS TO PROJECT APAN01 -
AIRPORT ADVERTISING
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
Aviation Fuel Tax collections in the amount of $116,533.87 are hereby accepted from
Pueblo County and are to be used for aviation related purposes, specifically advertising
services.
SECTION 2.
Accepted funds in the amount of $116,533.87 shall be budgeted and appropriated to
Project No. APAN01 – Airport Advertising.
SECTION 3.
Any future Aviation Fuel Tax funds remitted to the City of Pueblo via Pueblo County shall
also be budgeted and appropriated to Project No. APAN01 – Airport Advertising.
SECTION 4.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with this Ordinance to implement the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 5.
This Ordinance shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and City
Council.

SUMMARY:
This Ordinance will accept Aviation Fuel Tax funds collected through Pueblo County
Sales Tax collection.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Not applicable to this Ordinance.
BACKGROUND:
Pueblo County passed and approved Resolution 18-097 in 2018, transferring Aviation
Fuel Tax funds to the City of Pueblo to be used for aviation related purposes,
specifically advertising services. Pueblo County offices realized that Aviation Fuel Tax
funds are to be transferred to the City of Pueblo annually, but due to an oversight, no
transfer resolutions have been passed and approved since 2018. Pueblo County is now
transferring Aviation Fuel Tax collections for 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022, totaling
$116,533.87.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $116,533.87 will be budgeted and appropriated to Project
APAN01 – Airport Advertising.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
Not applicable to this Ordinance.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
Not applicable to this Ordinance.
ALTERNATIVES:
If this Ordinance is not approved, the City of Pueblo cannot accept the Aviation Fuel
Tax funds from Pueblo County.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Ordinance.
