BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that SECTION 1. Rates and charges for transportation services are hereby waived through June 1, 2023 for students and one (1) adult accompanying a grade school student to and from school. SECTION 2. The officers of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage, nunc pro tunc April 1, 2023. Gradisar VIA: Marisa Stoller, City Clerk FROM: Benjamin Valdez SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION WAIVING RATES AND CHARGES FOR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FOR STUDENTS AND 1 ADULT ACCOMPANYING A GRADE SCHOOL STUDENT TO AND FROM SCHOOL THROUGH JUNE 1, 2023. SUMMARY: Attached is a resolution waiving Transit fares for students and 1 adult accompanying a grade school student to and from school through June 1, 2023. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Ordinance 8847 (February 23, 2015) established rates and charges for transportation services. Ordinance 10044, dated November 22, 2021, approved and authorized a subrecipient agreement with Pueblo Transit for the sum of $36,651.00 to pay for school children and 1 adult accompanying a elementary student to and from school for the 2021-2022, and 2022-2023 School years. BACKGROUND: In general, the funds allotted under the subrecipient agreement have been expended. This Resolution will allow the program to continue through the remainder of the 2022- 2023 school year. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Anticipated fare revenue in the amount of $10,130.00 will not be collected. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Transit Board of Directors has reviewed and approved the proposed waiver. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: None. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution.
