A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT
IN THE AMOUNT OF $467,581.45 TO PYRAMID
CONSTRUCTION, INC., FOR PROJECT NO. 23-008, STREET
IMPROVEMENTS - CHEYENNE AVENUE, SETTING FORTH
$93,516.29 FOR CONTINGENCIES, AND AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAME
WHEREAS, competitive bids for Project No. 23-008, Street Improvements - Cheyenne
Avenue have been received and examined; and,
WHEREAS, the proposal of Pyramid Construction, Inc., was the lowest of those bids
determined to be responsive, and the Committee of Awards recommends to the City Council
that it authorize Project No. 23-008, Street Improvements - Cheyenne Avenue to be performed;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
The City Council authorizes Project No. 23-008, Street Improvements - Cheyenne Avenue, to be
performed, and the contract for said project is hereby awarded to Pyramid Construction, Inc., in
the amount of $467,581.45.
SECTION 2.
The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the City of
Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and
attest same.
SECTION 3.
In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as
stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work.
Contingencies and Additional Work………$93,516.29
SECTION 4.
Funds for Project 23-008 (including contingencies and additional work) shall be from Project No.
CI2309, Road & Street Repair.
SECTION 5.
The officers of the City of Pueblo are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with this
Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 6.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached is a resolution awarding a construction contract to Pyramid Construction, Inc.,
for Project No. 23-008, Street Improvements - Cheyenne Avenue.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
None.
BACKGROUND:
In general, this project will consist of concrete and asphalt improvements to Cheyenne
Avenue between West 11th and West 14th Streets in Pueblo, Colorado. This
Resolution awards the construction contract to Pyramid Construction, Inc.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funding (including contingencies) in the amount of $561,097.74 will be paid from
account CI2309 Road & Street Repairs.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
None.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None.
ALTERNATIVES:
Denial of this resolution will cancel this project.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Resolution.
