A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2023
GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO SOUTHERN COLORADO
PRESS CLUB IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000 TO SPONSOR
THE SHEEP DIP AWARDS DINNER ON THURSDAY,
APRIL 6, 2023 AT THE OLD TIME CARRIAGE HOUSE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $1,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the
2023 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Southern Colorado Press Club to
sponsor the Sheep Dip Awards Dinner on Thursday, April 6, 2023.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures
described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of the Southern Colorado Press
Club's Sheep Dip Awards Dinner on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the Old Time Carriage
House.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported this event with $500 in 2022.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Heather Graham is requesting $1,000 to support the Sheep Dip
Awards Dinner on Thursday, April 6, 2023. This year, the Mel Harmon recipient for
community service award will recognize the McCulley Family and the Damon Runyon
Lifetime Achievement Award will recognize Jon Pompia of Pueblo District 60. Proceeds
benefit students at PCC and CSU Pueblo for scholarships for Mass Communications,
Journalism, Graphic Design and other industry‐related degrees.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $1,000 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account
in the 2023 General Fund Budget to Southern Colorado Press Club.

City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this event.
