HomeMy WebLinkAbout15162RESOLUTION NO. 15162 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF MARISA LOPEZ TO THE PUEBLO CONSERVANCY DISTRICT WHEREAS, Mayor Nicholas A. Gradisar has requested confirmation by the City Council of his appointment of Marisa Lopez to the Pueblo Conservancy District to complete a five-year term expiring July 31, 2026; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that SECTION 1. The appointment by the Mayor of the Marisa Lopez to the Pueblo Conservancy District to complete a five-year term expiring July 31, 2026 shall be and is hereby confirmed by the City Council. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. Gradisar VIA: Marisa Stoller, City Clerk FROM: Alyssa Parga, Secretary to the Mayor SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF MARISA LOPEZ TO THE PUEBLO CONSERVANCY DISTRICT SUMMARY: This Resolution confirms the appointment by the Mayor of a member to complete a five- year term expiring July 31, 2026 on the Pueblo Conservancy District. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Council has confirmed appointments made by the Mayor to the Pueblo Conservancy District selecting individuals to serve terms which expire during a particular calendar year. BACKGROUND: Due to the resignation of Matt Cordova, there is one appointment available to complete a five-year term expiring July 31, 2026. Following an advertisement published on the City’s webpage and social media seeking volunteers to serve on this board, three applications were received. Mayor Gradisar interviewed all applicants and has recommended the appointment of Ms. Lopez. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: There are no financial implications to the City of Pueblo; however, appointed members receive a monthly stipend of $200 paid by the Pueblo Conservancy District. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: N/A STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: N/A ALTERNATIVES: Remove from agenda and re-advertise for additional applications. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution.
