A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY
THE MAYOR OF MELISSA NERESON AND JON WALKER
TO THE PUEBLO URBAN RENEWAL AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, Mayor Nicholas A. Gradisar has requested confirmation by the City
Council of his appointment of Melissa Nereson and Jon Walker to the Pueblo Urban
Renewal Authority to serve a five-year term expiring February 1, 2028; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
The appointment by the Mayor of Melissa Nereson and Jon Walker to serve a
five-year term expiring February 1, 2028 on the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority shall
be and is hereby confirmed by the City Council.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with this Resolution to implement the appointments described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage.

SUMMARY:
This Resolution appoints members to the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority to serve a
five-year term expiring on February 1, 2028.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council has confirmed appointments made by the Mayor to the Pueblo Urban Renewal
Authority selecting individuals to serve terms which expire during a particular calendar
year
BACKGROUND:
Due to the term expirations of incumbents David Abeyta and Patrick Avalos, there are
two appointments available to serve a five-year term expiring February 1, 2028 on the
Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority.
Following an advertisement in the Pueblo Chieftain and an announcement on the City’s
webpage seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, five applications were received
from Anthony Colarelli, Melissa Nereson, Roxanne Pignanelli, Justin Richardson, and
Jon Walker.
The applicants were interviewed by Mayor Gradisar and his recommendation is to
appoint Melissa Nereson and Jon Walker.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation.
