HomeMy WebLinkAbout15104 RESOLUTION NO. 15104 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF ALAN WARD TO THE PUEBLO ENERGY ADVISORY COMMISSION WHEREAS, Mayor Nicholas A. Gradisar has requested confirmation by the City Council of his appointment of Alan Ward to the Pueblo Energy Advisory Commission to complete a four-year term expiring June 30, 2023; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that SECTION 1. Alan Ward is hereby appointed to the Pueblo Energy Advisory Commission to complete a four-year term expiring June 30, 2023. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with this Resolution to implement the appointment described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage. Gradisar VIA: Marisa Stoller, City Clerk FROM: Alyssa Parga, Secretary to the Mayor SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF ALAN WARD TO THE PUEBLO ENERGY ADVISORY COMMISSION SUMMARY: This Resolution confirms the appointment by the Mayor of a member to complete a four-year term expiring June 30, 2023. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: On March 8, 2021, by Ordinance No. 9902, City Council amended Chapter 5 of Title II of the Pueblo Municipal Code to reconstitute the Pueblo Energy Advisory Commission. City Council has made appointments to the Pueblo Energy Advisory Commission selecting individuals to serve terms which expire during a calendar year. Amended City Charter Section 4-4 (i) now requires that such appointments be made by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by City Council. BACKGROUND: Due to the resignation of George Samaras, there is one vacancy on this Commission. Following an announcement on the City’s webpage and social media seeking volunteers to serve on this committee. Mayor Gradisar reviewed the application and appointed Mr. Ward. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None.
