HomeMy WebLinkAbout15092 RESOLUTION NO. 15092 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF BRANDI ADAKAI, LORI ARABIE, LARA CARTAGENA, HEATHER MAIO, SPENCER MILES, MELISSA NERESON, DEAN PACE, AND DERIC STOWELL TO THE COMMUNITY COMMISSION ON HOUSING AND HOMELESSNESS (CCHH) WHEREAS, Mayor Nicholas A. Gradisar has requested confirmation by the City Council of his appointment of Brandi Adakai, Lori Arabie, Lara Cartagena, Heather Maio, Spencer Miles, Melissa Nereson, Dean Pace, and Deric Stowell to serve on the Community Commission on Housing and Homelessness (CCHH); NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that SECTION 1. Lori Arabie, Lara Cartagena, and Dean Pace are hereby appointed to the Community Commission on Housing and Homelessness to serve a one-year term expiring December 31, 2023. SECTION 2. Spencer Miles and Deric Stowell are hereby appointed to the Community Commission on Housing and Homelessness to serve a two-year term expiring December 31, 2024. SECTION 3. Brandi Adakai, Heather Maio, and Melissa Nereson are hereby reappointed to the Community Commission on Housing and Homelessness to serve a three-year term expiring December 31, 2025. Gradisar VIA: Marisa Stoller, City Clerk FROM: Alyssa Parga, Secretary to the Mayor SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF BRANDI ADAKAI, LORI ARABIE, LARA CARTAGENA, HEATHER MAIO, SPENCER MILES, MELISSA NERESON, DEAN PACE, AND DERIC STOWELL TO THE COMMUNITY COMMISSION ON HOUSING AND HOMELESSNESS (CCHH) SUMMARY: This Resolution confirms the appointment by the Mayor of members to complete various terms on the Community Commission on Housing and Homelessness (CCHH) PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: City Council has made appointments to the Community Commission on Housing and Homelessness (CCHH) selecting individuals to serve terms which expire at the end of a particular calendar year. Amended City Charter Section 4-4 (i) now requires that such appointments be made by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by City Council. BACKGROUND: Due to the term expirations of Brandi Adakai, Chad Albaugh, Christina Maestas, Dustin Taylor, Heather Maio, Jimmy Duffner, Melissa Nereson, Sarina Adame, Steven Rodriguez, and Susan Anderson, there are ten spots available on the CCHH. Following an announcement in the Pueblo Chieftain, on the City’s webpage, and social media seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, applications were received and reviewed by the Mayor. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None.
