A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL
CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2022 GENERAL FUND
BUDGET TO CIBC WESTEND ACADEMY IN THE AMOUNT OF
$1,000 TO SPONSOR THE "3RD ANNUAL HAIR LOSS
AWARENESS FASHION SHOW" AT 5 PM ON SATURDAY,
DECEMBER 10, 2022
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $1,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2022
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to CIBC Westend Academy to sponsor the "3rd
Annual Hair Loss Awareness Fashion Show" at 5 pm on Saturday, December 10, 2022.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of the "3rd Annual Hair Loss Awareness Fashion
Show" at 5 pm on Saturday, December 10, 2022.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
None.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Larry Atencio is requesting $1,000 to sponsor the "3rd Annual Hair Loss
Awareness Fashion Show" at 5 pm on Saturday, December 10, 2022. Hair loss has many possible
causes, including genetics, an under active thyroid, cancer and its treatments, medications, and
other health conditions. For many people, hair loss or thinning hair can result in a loss of self-
esteem and cause depression, anxiety, or other emotional issues. CIBC Westend Academy offers
peer counseling and other services for those living with this.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $1,000 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2022
General Fund Budget to CIBC Westend Academy.

ALTERNATIVES:
City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this association.
