HomeMy WebLinkAbout15077RESOLUTION NO. 15077 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF KENNEDY PUGH, ORLANDO RODRIGUEZ II, AND BENJAMIN CALDERA TO THE PUEBLO HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION WHEREAS, Mayor Nicholas A. Gradisar has requested confirmation by the City Council of his appointments of Kennedy Pugh, Orlando Rodriguez, II, and Benjamin Caldera to serve on the Pueblo Human Relations Commission; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that SECTION 1. The appointment by the Mayor of Kennedy Pugh and Orlando Rodriguez, II to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission to complete a three-year term expiring December 31, 2024 shall be and is hereby confirmed by the City Council. SECTION 2. The appointment by the Mayor of Benjamin Caldera to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission to complete a three-year term expiring December 31, 2022 shall be and is hereby confirmed by the City Council SECTION 3. The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with this resolution to implement the appointments described herein. SECTION 4. This resolution shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and City Council. Gradisar VIA: Marisa Stoller, City Clerk FROM: Alyssa Parga, Secretary to the Mayor SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF KENNEDY PUGH, ORLANDO RODRIGUEZ II, AND BENJAMIN CALDERA TO THE PUEBLO HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION SUMMARY: This Resolution confirms the appointment by the Mayor of three members to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: City Council has made appointments to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission selecting individuals to serve terms which expire during a particular calendar year. Amended City Charter Section 4-4 (i) now requires that such appointments be made by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by City Council. BACKGROUND: Due to the resignations of Sarah Habib, Colleen Clark, and Fred Boatwright, there are three City appointments available on the Pueblo Human Relations Committee. The applications were reviewed by Mayor Gradisar who has appointed Kennedy Pugh and Orlando Rodriguez to complete terms expiring December 31, 2024 and Benjamin Caldera to complete a term expiring December 31, 2022. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None.
