A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2022 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO PUEBLO DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION IN
THE AMOUNT OF $1,000 TO SUPPORT THE PARADE OF
LIGHTS ON NOVEMBER 26, 2022, AT 5:30 PM
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $1,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2022
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to the Pueblo Downtown Association in support
of the Parade of Lights.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of the Parade of Lights which will
take place on Saturday, November 26, 2022.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
None.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Larry Atencio is requesting $1,000 to sponsor the Parade of
Lights on November 26, 2022. For the past 32 years, the Pueblo Parade of Lights has
signaled the beginning of the Holiday Season in Pueblo. This family-oriented event
attracts more than 50,000 people from throughout Southern Colorado and hosts nearly
100 parade entries from marching bands to theme floats.This year’s theme is “Holidays
in the Steel City.”
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $1,000 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account
in the 2022 General Fund Budget to the Pueblo Downtown Association.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
Not Applicable.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
Not Applicable.
ALTERNATIVES:
City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this association.
RECOMMENDATION:
