Gradisar has requested confirmation by the City Council of his appointment of David Lucas to Pueblo Energy Advisory Commission to complete a four-year term expiring June 30, 2023; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The following individual is hereby appointed to the Pueblo Energy Advisory Commission to complete a four-year term expiring June 30, 2023. ___David Lucas _ SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with this Resolution to implement the appointment described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage. Gradisar, Mayor VIA: Marisa Stoller, City Clerk FROM: Alyssa Parga, Secretary to the Mayor SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF DAVID LUCAS TO THE PUEBLO ENERGY ADVISORY COMMISSION SUMMARY: This Resolution confirms the appointment by the Mayor of a member to complete a four-year term expiring June 30, 2023. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: On March 8, 2021, by Ordinance No. 9902, City Council amended Chapter 5 of Title II of the Pueblo Municipal Code to reconstitute the Pueblo Energy Advisory Commission. City Council has made appointments to the Pueblo Energy Advisory Commission selecting individuals to serve terms which expire during a calendar year. Amended City Charter Section 4-4 (i) now requires that such appointments be made by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by City Council. BACKGROUND: Due to the resignations of George Samaras and Allison Kipple, there are two vacancies on this Commission. Following an announcement on the City’s webpage and social media seeking volunteers to serve on this committee. Mayor Gradisar reviewed the applications and appointed Mr. Lucas. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None.
