HomeMy WebLinkAbout14994 RESOLUTION NO. 14994 A RESOLUTION RATIFYING PACOG’S APPOINTMENT OF SANDRA SHERRER TO THE COMMUNITY SERVICES ADVISORY COMMISSION (CSAC) – JOINT CITY-COUNTY APPOINTMENT WHEREAS, there is one (1) vacancy to be filled on the Community Services Advisory Commission – Joint City-County appointment. This appointment shall complete a four-year term expiring April 30, 2026; and WHEREAS, this Resolution ratifies the joint appointments made following the PACOG meeting on August 25, 2022, by City-County Representatives who were present; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1: The following individuals are hereby appointed to the Community Services Advisory Commission Joint City-County Appointment to complete a four-year term expiring April 30, 2026. Sandra Sherrer SECTION 2: The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with this Resolution to implement the appointments described herein. SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and City Council. Gradisar, Mayor VIA: Marisa Stoller, City Clerk FROM: Alyssa Parga, Secretary to the Mayor SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION RATIFYING PACOG’S APPOINTMENT OF SANDRA SHERRER TO THE COMMUNITY SERVICES ADVISORY COMMISSION (CSAC) – JOINT CITY-COUNTY APPOINTMENT SUMMARY: This Resolution ratifies the Joint City-County selection made to the Community Services Advisory Commission (CSAC). PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Joint City-County appointments to the Community Services Advisory Commission are made on th an annual basis selecting individuals to serve staggered four-year terms expiring on April 30 of each year. Resolutions to ratify the joint appointments are passed by each entity. BACKGROUND: Due to the term expiration of James Wiley, there is one vacancy available on the Community Services Advisory Commission (CSAC) expiring April 30, 2026. The recruitment process for 2022 was handled by the Pueblo City Staff seeking volunteers to serve on this committee and two new applications were received from Clara Trautman and Sandra Sherrer. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: The Community Services Advisory Commission studies the needs of the community in the areas of health and human services, recreation, arts and culture, environmental/conservation and economic development; reviews and analyzes proposals that are submitted to the Pueblo County and City of Pueblo Partnership during the annual Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including conducting interviews and performing site visits of agencies submitting proposals; makes final recommendations to the City and County officials for funding consideration on an annual basis, or as needed in an emergency situation; and works on other issues and projects as assigned to them by the Public Officials. ALTERNATIVES: City Council in agreement with the County Commissioners could remove the Resolution from the Agenda, request that the recruitment process be extended in order to receive additional applications for consideration. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution. ATTACHMENTS: Application
