RESOLUTION NO. 14981
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TRANSFER OF FUNDS
FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE
2022 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO PUEBLO COUNTY IN
SUPPORT OF THE 2022 HOLIDAY LIGHTING CEREMONY
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $500 from the Council Contingencies Account in the
2022 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Pueblo County.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures
described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

LIGHTING CEREMONY
SUMMARY:
The event takes place at the Historic Courthouse in Pueblo and kicks off the holiday
season every year with a big fireworks show and this year includes the addition of a laser
show.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council contributed $500 for this event in 2021.
BACKGROUND:
The 2022 festivities will kick off at 5 p.m. with music, food trucks, hot chocolate, and first
responder vehicles on display. The lighting ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. with a
fireworks show completely coordinated to music. This year will also have a phenomenal
laser light show to complement our fireworks display. Financial support will help the
County pay for the expenses related to the event.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $500 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account in
the 2022 General Fund Budget to Pueblo County.

ALTERNATIVES:
City Council could choose not to pay for the sponsorship.
RECOMMENDATION:

Hello,
My name is Adam Uhernik, I work for Pueblo County, and I’m the organizer of the Courthouse Lighting
Ceremony. The event takes place at the Historic Courthouse in Pueblo and kicks off the holiday season
every year with a big fireworks show and other fun activities for our community. I’m writing to you to
request your sponsorship and support for the 2022 Lighting Ceremony which will take place Tuesday,
November 22, 2022.
The festivities will kick off at 5 p.m. with music, food trucks, hot chocolate, and first responder vehicles
on display. The lighting ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. with a fireworks show completely
coordinated to music. This year we are also going to have a phenomenal laser light show to
complement our fireworks display. Your financial support will help us pay for the expenses related
to the event.
