Gradisar VIA: Marisa Stoller, City Clerk FROM: Carla Sikes, Municipal Court Judge SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING $20,000 FROM THE “PROJECTS TO BE DETERMINED” ACCOUNT IN THE EXCESS COURT FINES FUND TO THE VEHICLES AND ROLLING STOCK ACCOUNT IN THE EXCESS COURT FINES FUND SUMMARY: This Resolution will transfer $20,000 in funds from the “Projects to be Determined” account to the Vehicles and Rolling Stock” account in the Excess Court Fines fund. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Ordinance 10050 adopted the 2022 budget for the Excess Court fines fund. $20,000 was budgeted into the Projects to be Determined account as part of that ordinance. BACKGROUND: In 2020, the Court’s full-size pickup used for the Court’s Graffiti Removal/Community Service program began experiencing mechanical problems and was rendered inoperable. The Court is in need of a used full size pick up that will tow its fully loaded dump trailer easily and transport participants and materials from location to location. The Court has found a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4-wheel drive, which is ideal for the program, at Southwest Motors. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: The cost of the truck is $29,484. This resolution will transfer $20,000 and the remaining funds are available in the Excess Court Fines fund. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable to this Resolution. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not applicable to this Resolution. ALTERNATIVES: City Council may deny this Resolution in which case the Court’s Community Service Program will operate with its existing vehicles; however, the Program will not be able to clean as many graffiti sites. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this Resolution
