HomeMy WebLinkAbout14930* RESOLUTION NO. 14930 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $175,382.50 TO DOUG VAUGHN, LLC., AND SETTING FORTH $21,227.20 FOR CONTINGENCIES, FOR PROJECT NO. 22-051 EILERS NEIGHBORHOOD SIDEWALKS AND CURB RAMPS AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAME WHEREAS, competitive bids for the Project No. 22-051 Eilers Neighborhood Sidewalks and Curb Ramps (CDBG) have been received and examined; and WHEREAS, the proposal of Doug Vaughn LLC., was the only bid received, but was determined to be responsive, and the Committee of Awards recommends to the City Council that it authorize Project No. 22-051 to be performed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. City Council authorizes Project No. 22-051 Eilers Neighborhood Sidewalks and Curb Ramps (CDBG) to be performed, and the contract for said project is hereby awarded to Doug Vaughn, LLC., in the amount of $175,382.50. SECTION 2. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the City of Pueblo, A Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 3. In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work. Contingencies and Additional Work………$21,227.20 SECTION 4. Funds for Project 22-051 (including contingencies and additional work) shall be from Project No. CD2011 Eilers Sidewalks. SECTION 5. The officers and staff of the City of Pueblo are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution and the contract to implement the transactions described therein. Hayes, P.E., Director of Public Works SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $175,382.50 TO DOUG VAUGHN, LLC., AND SETTING FORTH $21,227.20 FOR CONTINGENCIES, FOR PROJECT NO. 22-051 EILERS NEIGHBORHOOD SIDEWALKS AND CURB RAMPS AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAME SUMMARY: Attached is a resolution awarding a construction contract to Doug Vaughn, LLC., for Project No. 22-051 Eilers Neighborhood Sidewalks and Curb Ramps (CDBG). PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Ordinance 9951, final adoption by City Council on June 14, 2021, approved the 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan and the 2020 Annual Action Plan which created project CD2011 for Eilers Sidewalks. BACKGROUND: This project will consist of the removal and replacement of existing damaged concrete sidewalk, installation of new concrete sidewalks, curb ramps, alley approaches, and other incidental items related to the construction of the project on Bohmen Avenue, Mahren Avenue, and Egan Avenue, located between Mesa Avenue and E. Northern Avenue. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funding (including contingencies) in the amount of $196,609.70 will be paid from account CD2011 Eilers Sidewalks. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: Denial of this resolution will cancel the project. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution.
