HomeMy WebLinkAbout14929 RESOLUTION NO. 14929 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2022 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE PUEBLO SYMPHONY ASSOCIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $294.32 TO SUPPORT THE 2022 SEASON OF THE PUEBLO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Payment in the amount of $294.32 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2022 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to the Pueblo Symphony Association in support of the 2022 Season. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: City Council Member Dennis Flores is requesting $294.34 to support 2022 Pueblo Symphony Orchestra season. The Pueblo Symphony’s goals are to enhance the cultural environment of the community, focusing on the promotion of the arts in educational excellence. The season includes shows such as “Bravo Broadway” on June 18 and “Romantic Virtuosity” on August 6, 2022. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds in the amount of $294.32 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2022 General Fund Budget to the Pueblo Symphony Association. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not Applicable. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not Applicable. ALTERNATIVES: City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this association. RECOMMENDATION: This Resolution is at the request of Council Member Dennis Flores.
