HomeMy WebLinkAbout14859 RESOLUTION NO. 14859 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $161,711 TO DOUG VAUGHN, LLC, AND SETTING FORTH $30,000 FOR CONTINGENCIES, FOR PROJECT NO. 22-024 ABRIENDO AVENUE ADA CURB RAMPS PHASE 1 AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAME WHEREAS, competitive bids for the Project No. 22-024 Abriendo Avenue ADA Curb Ramps Phase 1 have been received and examined; and WHEREAS, the proposal of Doug Vaughn, LLC, was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsive, and the Committee of Awards recommends to the City Council it authorize Project No. 22-024 to be performed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. City Council authorizes Project No. 22-024 Abriendo Avenue ADA Curb Ramps Phase 1 to be performed, and the contract for said project is hereby awarded to Doug Vaughn, LLC, in the amount of $161,711. SECTION 2. Funds for Project 22-024 shall be from Project No. CD2116 ADA Ramps - Citywide. SECTION 3. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the City of Pueblo, A Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 4. In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work. Contingencies and Additional Work………$30,000.00 SECTION 5. The officers and staff of the City of Pueblo are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution and the contract to implement the transactions described therein. Hayes, P.E., Director of Public Works SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $161,711 TO DOUG VAUGHN, LLC, AND SETTING FORTH $30,000 FOR CONTINGENCIES, FOR PROJECT NO. 22-024 ABRIENDO AVENUE ADA CURB RAMPS PHASE 1 AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAME SUMMARY: Attached is a resolution awarding a construction contract to Doug Vaughn, LLC, for Project No. 22-024 Abriendo Avenue ADA Curb Ramps Phase 1. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None BACKGROUND: In general, this project will consist of the construction of ADA compliant curb ramps and sidewalk on Abriendo Avenue, between Washington Street and King Street. Construction will include replacement of the concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, asphalt patching, striping, and other items related to the construction. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funding (including contingencies) in the amount of $191,711 will be paid from account CD2116 ADA Ramps - Citywide.
