HomeMy WebLinkAbout14842 RESOLUTION NO. 14842 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2022 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO SOUTHERN COLORADO PRESS CLUB IN THE AMOUNT OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500) TO SPONSOR THE 2022 SHEEP DIP EVENT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Payment in the amount of $500 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2022 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Southern Colorado Press Club to sponsor the 2022 Sheep Dip event to be held on April 7, 2022. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: Council Member Heather Graham is requesting $500 to sponsor the Annual Sheep Dip event to be held on April 7, 2022. This year’s event at Old Towne Carriage House will recognize Retired Chief Troy Davenport as the Mel Harmon recipient and Rob Quirk, KOAA News 5 anchor as the Damon Runyon recipient. This is an annual fundraiser to support students in Mass Communication and Media Communication at Pueblo Community College and Colorado State University Pueblo. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds in the amount of $500 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2022 General Fund Budget to Southern Colorado Press Club. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not Applicable. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not Applicable. ALTERNATIVES: City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this event. RECOMMENDATION: This Resolution is at the request of Council Member Heather Graham.
