A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2022 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO AMERICAN MEDICAL RESPONSE IN THE
AMOUNT OF ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000) TO
SPONSOR THE 2022 AMERICAN MEDICAL RESPONSE
SAFETY JAM EVENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $1,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the
2022 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to American Medical Response to
sponsor the 2022 American Medical Response Safety Jam event to be held on April 23,
2022.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures
described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SAFETY JAM EVENT
SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for sponsorship of the 2022 American Medical
Response Safety Jam event to be held on April 23, 2022.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
City Council sponsored this event in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2020.
BACKGROUND:
Council Member Sarah Martinez is requesting $1,000 to sponsor the American Medical
Response Safety Jam event to be held on April 23, 2022, in conjunction with the Pueblo
Classic Bike Race. The AMR Safety Jam is a free event for the public that provides health
and safety equipment and information to the community. They also provide information
on other services and opportunities available to citizens in Pueblo and the surrounding
area. The Safety Jam is totally sponsor driven and has had several thousand attendees
at their past events. These funds will be used to pay for infrastructure needs for the event.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $1,000 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account in
the 2022 General Fund Budget to American Medical Response.

Not Applicable.
ALTERNATIVES:
City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this event.
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is at the request of Council Member Sarah Martinez.
