A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE
MAYOR OF GEORGE SAMARAS TO COMPLETE A FOUR-YEAR
TERM EXPIRING JUNE 30, 2023 ON THE PUEBLO ENERGY
ADVISORY COMMISSION
WHEREAS, Mayor Nicholas A. Gradisar has requested confirmation by the City Council of his
appointment of George Samaras to serve on the Pueblo Energy Advisory Commission, NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The appointment by the Mayor of the following individual to the Pueblo Energy Advisory
Commission to complete a four-year term expiring June 30, 2023 shall be and is hereby confirmed
by the City Council:

SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with
this Resolution to implement the appointment described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and City
Council.

SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF
GEORGE SAMARAS TO COMPLETE A TERM EXPIRING JUNE 30, 2023 ON THE
PUEBLO ENERGY ADVISORY COMMISSION
SUMMARY:
This Resolution confirms the appointment by the Mayor of a member to complete a four-year term
expiring June 30, 2023 on the Pueblo Energy Advisory Commission.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
On March 22, 2011, by Ordinance No. 9902, City Council amended Chapter 5 of Title II of the
Pueblo Municipal Code to reconstitute the Pueblo Energy Advisory Commission. City Council has
made appointments to the Pueblo Energy Advisory Commission selecting individuals to serve
terms which expire during a calendar year. Amended City Charter Section 4-4 (i) now requires
that such appointments be made by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by City Council.
BACKGROUND:
Due to the removal of Jeff Mara and the resignation of Allison Kipple, there are two vacancies on
this board.
The application was reviewed by Mayor Gradisar who has appointed George Samaras to
complete a four-year term expiring June 30, 2023.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None.
ALTERNATIVES:
Remove from agenda and re-advertise for additional applications.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Resolution.
