City of Pueblo Sponsorship Request
Submitted by Pueblo Mentoring Collaborative

Pueblo Mentoring Celebration: Showcasing Pueblo’s Talented Youth
January is National Mentoring Month and to mark the occasion, the Pueblo Mentoring Collaborative will
host the Pueblo Mentoring Celebration: Showcasing Pueblo’s Talented Youth on January 27, 2022. We
respectfully request $500 to support this incredible event that celebrates the power of mentoring and
the strengths of young people. The 7th annual occasion includes a fully catered dinner, inspirational
speakers, entertainment by Pueblo’s talented youth, and mentor recognition.
A primary focus of the celebration is to amplify the youth voice. Therefore, the Pueblo County Youth
Advisory Council (PCYAC) is a significant partner. PCYAC provides youth feedback, community service,
and leadership opportunities to young people within the Pueblo community; their members have a
pivotal role in the development of the evening’s flow of events and will also serve as emcees.
Additionally, young entertainers will be in the spotlight to include vocalists, dancers, and a comedian. A
mentor and high school mentee will share their testimony and highlight the impact of their relationship.
Because January 27, 2022, is also National Thank Your Mentor Day, all guests will be given a special gift
that they in turn are encouraged to give to a mentor who has made a difference in their life. This small
token of appreciation sets the stage for a spirit of thankfulness among the guests that is meant to ignite
gratitude throughout the community.
The primary goals of this event are listed below:
Provide a positive and encouraging event—free of charge—to the Pueblo community
Celebrate the value of relationships between mentors and mentees
Showcase Pueblo’s talented youth
Inspire gratitude among attendees that can be shared with others
The minimum number of people impacted by the event will be 200, as this is the seating capacity (based
on COVID considerations) at the Olde Towne Carriage House. This number may also increase for any
outside mentor who receives the token of appreciation from their mentee. The specific benefits for
those in attendance include:
Receive a fully catered meal
Experience high-quality youth entertainment
Witness the impact mentoring relationships have on our community
Receive a gift that can be given to a mentor who has made a difference in their life
Spend an evening immersed in positivity and gratitude
All of the benefits above will be provided free of charge.
