HomeMy WebLinkAbout14682 RESOLUTION NO. 14682 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF FUNDSFROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2021 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO PUEBLO COUNTY IN SUPPORT OF THE 2021 LIGHTING CEREMONY BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Payment in the amount of $500 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2021 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Pueblo County. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval. The ceremony will honor frontline, essential, healthcare workers, and people impacted by COVID-19. A matching $500 will come from the Mayor’s contingencies account. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: The 2021 Lighting Ceremony will take place Tuesday, November 23. The festivities will kick off at 5 p.m. with music, rock climbing walls, bungee trampolines, bounce houses, hot chocolate, first responder vehicles on display, and photos with Santa for the kids. The lighting ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. followed by a fireworks show completely coordinated to music. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds in the amount of $500 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2021 General Fund Budget to Pueblo County. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not Applicable. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not Applicable. ALTERNATIVES: City Council could choose not to pay for the sponsorship.
