A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE
MAYOR OF PHYLLIS SANCHEZ TO THE HOUSING
AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PUEBLO BOARD OF
DIRECTORS
WHEREAS, Mayor Nicholas A. Gradisar has requested confirmation by the City Council of
his appointment of the following individual to the Housing Authority of the City of Pueblo to serve
a five-year term expiring July 1, 2026.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1
The following individual is hereby appointed to the Housing Authority of the City of
Pueblo Board of Directors to serve a five-year term expiring July 1, 2026.

SECTION 2
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage.

PHYLLIS SANCHEZ TO THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF
PUEBLO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
SUMMARY:
This Resolution confirms the appointment by the Mayor of a member to the Housing Authority of
the City of Pueblo Board of Directors to serve a five-year term expiring July 1, 2026.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
City Council has made appointments to the Housing Authority of the City of Pueblo Board of
Directors selecting individuals to serve terms which expire at the end of a particular calendar
year. Amended City Charter Section 4-4 (i) now requires that such appointments be made by
the Mayor, subject to confirmation by City Council.
BACKGROUND:
Due to the term limit of John Ribal, there is one position available on the Housing Authority of
the City of Pueblo Board of Directors, t, to serve a five-year term expiring July 1, 2026.
Following an advertisement published in the Pueblo Chieftain and an announcement on the
City’s social media and webpage seeking volunteers, four applications were received from Kelly
Urban, Anthony Mascarenas, Destiny DeHerrera, and Phyllis Sanchez.
Following interviews, the Mayor recommends Phyllis Sanchez for the position.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
None.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None.
ALTERNATIVES:
Remove from agenda and re-advertise for additional applications.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Resolution.
