HomeMy WebLinkAbout14649RESOLUTION NO. 14649 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF MIRIAM NEFF, SARINA ADAME, AND BRANDI ADAKAI TO THE COMMUNITY COMMISSION ON HOUSING AND HOMELESSNESS (CCHH) WHEREAS, Mayor Nicholas A. Gradisar has requested confirmation by the City Council of his appointment of the following individuals to complete a two-year term expiring December 31, 2022 and to complete a three-year term expiring December 31, 2023 on the Community Commission on Housing and Homelessness (CCHH); NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The appointment by the Mayor of the following individual the Community Commission on Housing and Homelessness to complete a three-year term expiring December 31, 2023 shall be and is hereby confirmed by the City Council: ____Miriam Neff____ SECTION 2. The appointment by the Mayor of the following individuals the Community Commission on Housing and Homelessness to serve a two-year term expiring December 31, 2022 shall be and is hereby confirmed by the City Council: Sarina Adame Brandi Adakai SECTION 3. The officers and staff of the City are authorized and directed to perform any and all acts consistent with this Resolution to implement the appointments described herein. SECTION 4. This Resolution shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and City Council. Gradisar, Mayor VIA: Mayor’s Office FROM: Alyssa Parga, Secretary to the Mayor SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF MIRIAM NEFF, SARINA ADAME, AND BRANDI ADAKAI TO THE COMMUNITY COMMISSION ON HOUSING AND HOMELESSNESS (CCHH) SUMMARY: This Resolution appoints two members to complete a two-year term expiring on December 31, 2022 and one member to complete a three-year term expiring December 31, 2023, on the Community Commission on Housing and Homelessness (CCHH). PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: City Council has made appointments to the Community Commission on Housing and Homelessness (CCHH) selecting individuals to serve terms which expire at the end of a particular calendar year. Amended City Charter Section 4-4 (i) now requires that such appointments be made by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by City Council. BACKGROUND: Due to the resignation of Nona Gladbach and Linda & Joe Musso, all of whom moved away from Pueblo, and one seat that was never filled, there are 2 spots available for a community member to complete a three-year term and 2 spots available to complete a two-year term on the Community Commission for Housing and Homelessness. The applications were reviewed by Mayor Gradisar and his recommendation is to accept Miriam Neff to complete a three-year term expiring December 31, 2023 and to accept Sarina Adame and Brandi Adakai to complete two-year terms expiring December 31, 2022. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: Remove from agenda and re-advertise for additional applications. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution. ATTACHMENTS: Proposed Resolution
