HomeMy WebLinkAbout14612 RESOLUTION NO. 14612 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING JOE LATINO, MARY LEE, ASHLEY WIGGIN, MICHAEL MESSERVY, NANCY ZIMMER, AND SUSAN EGNOR TO THE COMMUNITY SERVICES ADVISORY COMMISSION (CSAC) – JOINT CITY-COUNTY APPOINTMENTS WHEREAS, there are (6) appointments to be filled on the Community Services Advisory Commission – Joint City-County appointments. Three appointments shall serve four-year terms expiring April 30, 2025; one appointment shall complete a four-year term expiring April 30, 2024; one appointment shall complete a four-year term expiring April 30, 2023; and one open appointment to complete a four-year term expiring April 30, 2022 and WHEREAS, this Resolution appoints six (6) individuals as the City-County joint appointments to CSAC. NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1: The following individuals are hereby appointed to serve four-year terms expiring April 30, 2025 on the Community Services Advisory Commission Joint City-County Appointment. Joe Latino Mary Lee Ashley Wiggin SECTION 2: The following individual is appointed to complete a four-year term expiring April 30, 2024 on the Community Services Advisory Commission Joint City-County Appointment. Michael Messervy SECTION 3: The following individual is appointed to complete a four-year term expiring April 30, 2023 on the Community Services Advisory Commission Joint City-County Appointment. Nancy Zimmer SECTION 4: The following individual is appointed to complete a four-year term expiring April 30, 2022 on the Community Services Advisory Commission Joint City-County Appointment. Susan Egnor SECTION 5: The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. Gradisar, Mayor VIA: City Clerk’s Office FROM: Marisa Stoller, City Clerk SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION APPOINTING JOE LATINO, MARY LEE, ASHLEY WIGGIN, MICHAEL MESSERVY, NANCY ZIMMER, AND SUSAN EGNOR TO THE COMMUNITY SERVICES ADVISORY COMMISSION (CSAC) – JOINT CITY- COUNTY APPOINTMENTS SUMMARY: This Resolution appoints six (6) individuals as Joint City-County selections made to the Community Services Advisory Commission (CSAC). PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Joint City-County appointments to the Community Services Advisory Commission are made on th an annual basis selecting individuals to serve staggered four-year terms expiring on April 30 of each year. Resolutions to make the joint appointments are passed by each entity. BACKGROUND: Due to the regular term expiration of Incumbent Erick Bergethon, Incumbent William Carrero and the resignations of Incumbent Deborah Nava Watson there are three appointments available to serve four-year terms expiring April 30, 2025; due to the resignation of Linda Crawford, there is one appointment available to complete a four-year term expiring April 30, 2022 on the Community Services Advisory Commission. Due to the resignation of Cynthia Ortiz Fuentes, there is one appointment available to complete a four-year term expiring April 30, 2023; and due to the resignation of Regina Purcell, there is one appointment available to complete a four-year term expiring April 30, 2024 on the Community Services Advisory Commission. The recruitment process for 2021 was handled by the Pueblo County Staff seeking volunteers to serve on this joint committee and received six new applications from Susan Egnor, Joe Latino, Mary Lee, Michael Messervy, Ashley Wiggin, and Nancy Zimmer. The applications were reviewed following the PACOG meeting held on April 22, 2021, where Susan Egnor was recommended for appointment to complete a four-year term expiring April 30, 2022. Nancy Zimmer was recommended for appointment to complete a four-year term expiring April 30, 2023. Michael Messervy was recommended for appointment to complete a four-year term expiring April 30, 2024. Joe Latino, Mary Lee and Ashley Wiggin were recommended for appointment to serve four-year terms expiring April 30, 2025. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: The Community Services Advisory Commission studies the needs of the community in the areas of health and human services, recreation, arts and culture, environmental/conservation and economic development; reviews and analyzes proposals that are submitted to Pueblo County and the City of Pueblo during the annual Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including conducting interviews and performing site visits of agencies submitting proposals; making final recommendations to the City and County officials for funding consideration on an annual basis, or as needed in an emergency situation; and working on other issues and projects as assigned to them by the Mayor, City Council and the Board of County Commissioners. ALTERNATIVES: City Council could remove the Resolution from the Agenda, request that the recruitment process be extended in order to receive additional applications for consideration.
