SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF
GEORGIA WAY TO THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
SUMMARY:
This Resolution confirms the appointment by the Mayor of a member to the Zoning Board of
Appeals to complete a four-year term expiring June 30, 2023.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
City Council has made appointments to the Zoning Board of Appeals selecting individuals to serve
terms which expire at the end of a particular calendar year. Amended City Charter Section 4-4
(i) now requires that such appointments be made by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by City
Council.
BACKGROUND:
Due to the resignation of Incumbent Sarah French, there is one appointment available to complete
a four-year term expiring June 30, 2023 on the Zoning Board of Appeals.
Following an advertisement published in the Pueblo Chieftain and an announcement on the City
webpage and social media seeking volunteers to serve on this Board, one application was
received from Georgia Way.
The application was reviewed by Mayor Gradisar and his recommendation is to appoint Ms.
Georgia Way.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Members of the Zoning Board of Appeals receive $25.00 for each regular or special meeting
attended. The Chairman of the Board receives as additional compensation the sum of $50.00 per
month for each month of service as Chairman. These monies are allocated in the Planning and
Community Services annual budget.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
None.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None.
ALTERNATIVES:
Remove from agenda and re-advertise for additional applications.
