AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER BY THE
CITY OF PUEBLO, A COLORADO MUNICIPAL
CORPORATION, TO THE URBAN RENEWAL AUTHORITY
OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, A BODY CORPORATE AND
POLITIC OF THE STATE OF COLORADO, A PARCEL OF
LAND, CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 558.35
SQUARE FEET, LOCATED IN BLOCK 62 OF THE
HOBSON’S SUBDIVISION, COUNTY OF PUEBLO, STATE
OF COLORADO AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE A QUIT CLAIM DEED TO EFFECTUATE SAID
TRANSFER
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The Quit Claim Deed, dated April 12, 2021, between the City of Pueblo, a Colorado
municipal corporation (“City”) and the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority of Pueblo,
Colorado, a body corporate and politic of the State of Colorado (“PURA”) a copy of which
is attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, having been approved as to
form by the City Attorney, is hereby approved. The Mayor is authorized to execute and
deliver said Quit Claim Deed in the name of the City and the Acting City Clerk is
authorized to affix the seal of the City thereto and attest same.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with this Ordinance and the attached Quit Claim Deed which are necessary or
desirable to implement the transactions described therein.
SECTION 3.
This Ordinance shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and
City Council.

SUMMARY:
Attached is an Ordinance approving and authorizing the Mayor to sign a Quit Claim Deed
transferring a parcel of land consisting of approximately 558.35 square feet, located in the vicinity
of the former Health Department Building, to the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority (“PURA”).
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Not applicable to this Ordinance.
BACKGROUND:
PURA is the fee owner of the former Health Department Building and is in the process of re-
platting the property for development of a mixed-use building on the site. A recent title search has
revealed that a small parcel located on the property remains titled in the name of the City. For
purposes of future development and the anticipated plat amendment, PURA has asked the City
to convey the small parcel to PURA.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
This Ordinance does not create a fiscal obligation on the part of the City.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
Not applicable to this Ordinance.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
Not applicable to this Ordinance.
ALTERNATIVES:
If this Ordinance is not approved, the City will be required to join in the plat amendment process
as a partial owner. Future development of the site (including future conveyance of title) will be
complicated by the City’s partial ownership of the property.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Ordinance.

QUIT CLAIM DEED
THIS DEED, made this 12th day of April, 2021, between the City of Pueblo, a
Colorado municipal corporation, Grantor and the Urban Renewal Authority of Pueblo,
Colorado, a body corporate and politic of the State of Colorado, whose legal address is 115
E. Riverwalk, Suite 410, Pueblo, Colorado 81003, Grantee.
WITNESSETH, that the Grantor, for and in exchange of nonmonetary consideration
and other good and valuable consideration the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby
acknowledged, has remised, released, sold and QUIT CLAIMED, and by these presents
does remise, release, sell and QUIT CLAIM unto the Grantee, its successors and assigns,
forever, all the right, title, interest, claim and demand which the Grantor has in and to the
real property, together with improvements, if any, situate, lying and being in the County of
Pueblo and State of Colorado, as described in the attached Exhibit A, which is incorporated
herein by this reference (also known by street address: none) hereinafter the "Property." A
map depicting the Property (shown as a triangle parcel) marked as Exhibit B, is attached
hereto and incorporated herein by this reference.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same, together with all and singular the
appurtenances and privileges thereunto belonging or in anywise thereunto appertaining,
and all the estate, right, title, interest and claim whatsoever, of the Grantor, either in law or
equity, to the only proper use and benefit of the Grantee, its successors and assigns
forever.

follows: Beginning at a point at the intersection of the West line of Court Street extended and the
NWIy line of Lot 3, Block 62, Hobson's Subdivision, said point being 8.31 feet SWIy from the
NWIy corner of said Lot 3, thence SEIy at an angle of 45° 44' with said West line of Court Street
extended 32.98 feet to a point; thence SWIy at an angle of 89° 57' 30"to the right 33.86 feet to a
