AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ACCEPTING AN
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE STATE OF COLORADO AND THE
CITY OF PUEBLO FOR A GRANT AWARD IN THE AMOUNT OF
$175,000 ON BEHALF OF THE PUEBLO FOOD PROJECT, AND
BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING $175,000 INTO PROJECT
NO. CI2106
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The Purchase Order from the State of Colorado Department of Human Services,
including the Small Dollar Grant Award Terms and Conditions and Statement of Work, (the
“Grant Agreement”) between the City of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, on behalf of the
Pueblo Food Project, and the State of Colorado, a copy of which is attached hereto, having
been approved as to form by the City Attorney, is hereby approved.
SECTION 2.
Project No. CI2106 is hereby established for the purpose of the Pueblo Food Project and
local hunger relief.
SECTION 3.
Funds in the amount of $175,000.00 shall be accepted pursuant to the Grant Agreement
and budgeted and appropriated to Project No. CI2106.
SECTION 4.
In accordance with the Grant Agreement, staff of the Pueblo Food Project and City are
authorized to begin performance thereof, thereby accepting and entering into the Grant
Agreement.
SECTION 5.
The officers and staff of the City are hereby authorized and directed to perform any and
all acts consistent with this Ordinance and the attached Grant Agreement to implement the
transactions described therein.
SECTION 6.
This Ordinance shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and City
Council.

SUMMARY:
Attached is an Ordinance approving and accepting an agreement and grant award in the amount
of $175,000 from the State of Colorado (“State”), to provide funds for hunger relief work led by
the Pueblo Food Project, and budgeting and appropriating the grant funds to Project No. CI2106.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Not applicable to this Ordinance.
BACKGROUND:
The Pueblo Food Project applied for a grant from the State of Colorado to support hunger relief
efforts in Pueblo. The grant proposal was accepted and awarded in the amount of $175,000.
These funds are to be used in accordance with the submitted proposal. All activities are geared
towards hunger relief. The City is the fiscal sponsor for the Pueblo Food Project, which will be
carrying out the activities for purposes of the grant.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
There are no matching funds required for this grant. The City of Pueblo will receive the entire
$175,000 on behalf of the Pueblo Food Project upon passage of the Ordinance.

Not applicable to this Ordinance.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
Not applicable to this Ordinance.
ALTERNATIVES:
If the proposed Ordinance is not approved, the Pueblo Food Project will not receive the grant
funds.
