RESOLUTION NO. 14558
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE GIFT OF ARTWORK
FROM MINDY AND MARY POTESTIO TO BE LOCATED
WITHIN THE WALLY STEALEY GARDEN OF MEMORIES
PARK AND APPROVING THE INSTALLATION OF SAME
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The City of Pueblo hereby accepts the artwork donated by Mindy and Mary
Potestio and approves the installation of same at the Wally Stealey Garden of Memories
Park located at C Street and Union Avenue.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described
herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.

SUMMARY:
This Resolution will accept a gift of artwork, “Wind Sculpture” by Lyman Whitaker, from
Mindy and Mary Potestio and approve the installation of this art piece within the Wally
Stealey Garden of Memories Park.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Not applicable to this Resolution.
BACKGROUND:
The Potestios wish to donate a piece of artwork, known as “Wind Sculpture” by Lyman
Whitaker, to the City of Pueblo to be installed in the Wally Stealey Garden of Memories
Park, which is located at the corner of C Street and Union Avenue. The artwork will include
a landscaping boulder and a small plaque. The artwork is in remembrance of Turk
Esquibel. This 3,500 square foot park was dedicated in memory of Wallace “Wally”
Stealey, a well-known and admired Puebloan who passed away in 2017.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The artwork is valued at approximately $3,000.

Not applicable to this Resolution.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
Not applicable to this Resolution.
ALTERNATIVES:
Council could remove the Resolution from the agenda and the gift of the artwork will not
be accepted.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Resolution.

Donation Letter

To Whom It May Concern,
Thank you for the opportunity to submit this proposal letter to the City of Pueblo to accept a donation
of a wind sculpture for the small park located on the corner of Union and C Street in Pueblo. The wind
sculpture is designed by artist, Lyman Whitaker and the value is approximately $3,000. This donation is
provided by friends and family in remembrance of Turk Esquibel. The donation will also have a
landscaping rock (boulder) with a small plaque in remembrance of Turk Esquibel.
Please accept this letter as our proposal for such donation. If you have any further questions, please call
Mindy Potestio, business owner of Seabel’s Gourmet Shop and Boutique at 543-2400.
