DAVENPORT TO THE POSITION OF DEPUTY MAYOR
SUMMARY:
The Mayor has reappointed Troy D. Davenport to the position of Deputy Mayor effective
January 1, 2021 and requests confirmation of said reappointment by the City Council. Such
reappointment is based on Mr. Davenport’s exemplary service as Deputy Mayor and his
education, training, experience and fitness for the position.

reviewed the qualifications of Mr. Davenport, who currently serves as the City’s Chief of Police,
a position he has held for approximately the last 3 of more than 25 years of employment by the
City Police Department. Mr. Davenport was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree (with
honors) in Sociology (with an emphasis in Criminology) from the University of Southern
Colorado (now Colorado State University – Pueblo) in 2000. In 2011, Mr. Davenport received a
Masters of Public Administration Degree (with honors) from the University of Colorado at
Colorado Springs. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy (2008).

Mr. Davenport will continue to serve as Chief of Police and will not receive additional
