HomeMy WebLinkAbout09832 ORDINANCE NO. 9832 AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING, BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING INSURANCE PROCEEDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $151,213.13 INTO CAPITAL PROJECT NO. CI2015 – STORM ROOF REPAIRS FOR HAIL DAMAGE REPAIRS AT VARIOUS CITY OF PUEBLO BUILDINGS WHEREAS, in the summer of 2020, several City of Pueblo buildings experienced damage from a major hailstorm; and WHEREAS, the City has received proceeds from the insurance company for the costs to repair such damages; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Upon receipt, insurance proceeds in the amount of $151,213.13 shall be budgeted, appropriated, and transferred into Capital Project No.CI2015 – Storm Roof Repair from the Self Insurance Fund. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Ordinance. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and City Council. CI2015 – STORM ROOF REPAIRS FOR HAIL DAMAGE REPAIRS AT VARIOUS CITY OF PUEBLO BUILDINGS SUMMARY: This Ordinance transfers, budgets and appropriates insurance proceeds in the amount of $151,213.13 for the replacement of roofs damaged by hail. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: In 2020, several City of Pueblo buildings sustained significant roof damage caused by a major hailstorm. Resolution of the City’s insurance claim provides for payment by the insurance company for repair of damages. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds in the amount of $151,213.13 will be transferred into Project No. CI2005 – Storm Roof Repairs from the Self Insurance Fund and will be used to repair the hail damage. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not Applicable. ALTERNATIVES: Denying the Ordinance will cause the proceeds to be returned and the Project canceled. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Ordinance. Attachments: None
