A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE
MAYOR OF HEATHER BLACK AND AARON LUCERO TO THE
PUEBLO HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION – CITY
APPOINTMENTS
WHEREAS, Mayor Nicholas A. Gradisar has requested confirmation by the City Council of
his appointment of the following individuals to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission - City
Appointments to complete three-year terms expiring December 31, 2021; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The appointments by the Mayor of the following individuals to the Pueblo Human
Relations Commission to complete three-year terms expiring December 31, 2021 shall be and
hereby is confirmed by City Council.

SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized and directed to perform any and all acts
consistent with this Resolution to implement the appointments described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.

RELATIONS COMMISSION – CITY APPOINTMENTS
SUMMARY:
This Resolution confirms the appointment by the Mayor of members to complete three-year
terms expiring December 31, 2021 on the Pueblo Human Relations Commission-City
Appointment.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
City Council has made appointments to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission selecting
individuals to serve terms which expire during a particular calendar year. Amended City Charter
Section 4-4 (i) now requires that such appointments be made by the Mayor, subject to
confirmation by City Council.
BACKGROUND:
Due to the resignations of Incumbent Shelly Dunham and Incumbent Gretchen Dypold, there
are two appointments available to serve three-year terms expiring December 31, 2021 on the
Pueblo Human Relations Commission as the City Appointments.
Following advertisements published in the Pueblo Chieftain, announcements on the City Clerk’s
webpage seeking volunteers to serve on the commission, three new applications were received
from Heather Black, Aaron Lucero and Adelia Tripp-Sena.
The applications were reviewed by Mayor Gradisar who is requesting confirmation of his
appointments of Heather Black and Aaron Lucero.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
This a volunteer commission and members serve without compensation.

None.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None.
ALTERNATIVES:
Remove from agenda and re-advertise for additional applications.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Resolution.
