A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL
CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2020 GENERAL FUND BUDGET IN
THE AMOUNT OF $2,000 TO BE PAID TO THE KIDS CROSSING
WINTER EVENTS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $2,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the
2020 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Kids Crossing to assist with their
Winter Events. The remaining $2,025 will be paid from the Mayor’s Contingencies
Account.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and
all acts consistent with this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described
herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
This Resolution provides financial assistance to Kids Crossing to support two winter
programs.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
No previous action.
BACKGROUND:
City Council President Dennis Flores is requesting financial support for the Kids Crossing
Winter Events. Kids Crossing was founded by foster parents for foster parents. Their
Pueblo facility has been in operation for 25 years. Their vision is to provide a safe and
caring home for every child while strengthening foster families. This agency hosts various
events throughout the year, including the Coats/Hats/Gloves Drive and the Adopt-A-Child
for Christmas events. Kids Crossing has asked for $4,025 to sponsor these two winter
events which will benefit 23 teenagers and 23 children in their care. Funds will provide
winter clothing and two gifts per child.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $2,000 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account in
the 2020 General Fund Budget to Kids Crossing. The remaining $2,025 will be paid from
the Mayor’s Contingencies Account.
