PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: City Council has made appointments to the Historic Preservation Commission to serve terms which expire during a calendar year. Amended City Charter Section 4-4 (i) now requires that such appointments be made by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by City Council. BACKGROUND: Due to the resignations of Incumbent Karen Knight and Incumbent Maria Tucker there are two appointments available to complete four-year terms expiring January 1, 2022 on the Historic Preservation Commission. Following an advertisement published in the Pueblo Chieftain, an announcement on the City Clerk’s webpage seeking volunteers to serve on this board, one new application was received from Megan Moore. A previous application submitted by Alyssum Skjeie was received and was not selected but rather placed on file for future review. Ms. Skjeie’s application is now being submitted for consideration of appointment. The applications were reviewed by Mayor Gradisar and recommended that both applicants be appointed FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: Remove from agenda and re-advertise for additional applications. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution.
