SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF
SHARON SULLENBERGER TO THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS
SUMMARY
This Resolution appoints an individual to the Board of Elections to serve a four-year term expiring
June 1, 2024.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION
City Council has made appointments to the Board of Elections to serve terms which expire
during a calendar year. Amended City Charter Section 4-4 (i) now requires that such
appointments be made by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by City Council.
BACKGROUND
Due to the term expiration of Incumbent Gloria Escorcia, there is one appointment available to
serve a four-year term expiring June 1, 2024 on the Board of Elections.
Following advertisements published in the Pueblo Chieftain, and an announcement on the City
Clerk’s webpage seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, one new application was
received from Sharon Sullenberger. Incumbent Gloria Escoria is term limited and did not apply
for reappointment.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS
Members of the Board of Elections are paid $25.00 per meeting attended. Funding for this
stipend is allocated in the Budget of the City Clerk’s Office; therefore, no new funding is
necessary.
